Dan Musgrave is the Founder and Senior Consultant of Freewave Digital.
With over a decade of experience across digital strategy, business systems, marketing operations, ecommerce, and project delivery, Dan works at the intersection of strategy and execution.
Dan started out in events and marketing – holding a Bachelor of Business from Griffith University – before moving deeper into the technical and operational side of digital, later completing post-graduate study in Business Consulting and Technology Implementation at the University of Technology Sydney, in collaboration with Microsoft. That combination of creative marketing roots, project management and hard systems thinking is still how he approaches problems today.
Over his career he’s led work across creative media, trades, franchising, events, and professional services – typically for businesses that have outgrown disconnected tools and manual processes and need someone who can see the whole board. He’s also worked in live event and sports environments, — a useful reminder that good systems have to hold up under real pressure, not just on paper.
As a leader, Dan runs his Byron Bay–based team the same way he builds systems: high standards, clear thinking, and no unnecessary noise. He’s hands-on without micromanaging, values quality over speed, and would rather build something that lasts than chase a quick win. The principle he holds the team to is simple — we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take the work very seriously. His north star for every client is to take the operational and technical complexity off their plate, so they can get back to doing what they do best.
